NEWKL.Inc, an edtech company, announced the establishment of the XR VERSE MAUM(MIND) Institute, a metaverse-based psychological research institute that can be accessed via PC, mobile, and VR, and is preparing to launch a metaverse specialized psychological counseling platform.
In today's complex and diverse society, a healthy mind is one of the most important factors for happiness, according to NEWKL. In fact, the trend of companies in the United States and Europe spending money on psychological counseling for the mental health of not only employees but also their families is spreading and being introduced in Korea one by one. In response, NEWKL has established a psychological research institute and prepared a psychological counseling platform.
The XR VERSE MAUM(MIND) Lab will research the development of professional psychological counseling and mind growth programs in the metaverse based on XR VERSE. Unlike conventional psychological counseling, metaverse psychological counseling is a method in which the avatar of 'me' and the avatar of 'the counselor' meet in a virtual space and talk to each other. Various psychological techniques can be used in this process.
To this end, the director of the Institute, who conducted the first VR psychotherapy in Korea, a metaverse psychologist, and a lecturer are the core staff of the Institute, and they will conduct research and clinical studies on metaverse psychotherapy techniques, training courses for metaverse psychologists, mind growth programs for companies and institutions, and the development of mind growth programs tailored for individuals and families.
In particular, the purpose of the institute stands out in that it aims to make it easy, comfortable, and affordable to take care of mental health through mindfulness programs by developing metaverse-based professional psychological counseling functions, healing space experiences, and trauma simulation rooms, and to contribute to the healthy growth and happy lives of people and organizations through mindfulness.
"It is true that it takes courage and time to find a psychiatrist or face-to-face psychological counseling, and it is not easy to activate a psychological counseling room in the company, as it is also worried about the gaze of the surrounding people." "We expect to play a role in opening the minds of more people to access psychological healing in a free time and space with guaranteed anonymity and non-face-to-face, centered on the MZ generation, which prefers digital communication," said an official from NEWKL.

"As COVID-19 continues afterwards, the education environment for office workers needs to change flexibly, and education using XR is the most efficient and appropriate learning method in this regard. Through XR BOOK and XR VERSE, we will continue to develop technologies and content that can be utilized by organically and contextually combining various training environments and methods."
XR BOOK, the flagship brand of NEWKL (CEO Kim Byung-soo - pictured), an edtech company specializing in XR-Metaverse learning, is an XR-based learning program and operation platform.
It provides customized learning programs for children, teenagers, and adults by developing stories of humanities, art, history, and great people into XR (AR, VR, MR, 2D-3D animation) interactive contents and reflection writing work books, and can be learned online and offline.
'XR VERSE' provides specialized functions for lectures, learning communication, and initial 6 learning activities, and provides various experience contents through its own theme space (art, healing, performance, camping, game, etc.) with edutainment elements. The company has patented the XR technology required to utilize augmented and virtual reality, and is focusing on supplying and spreading it to the domestic and international education market through the XR VERSE platform.
THE HRDer. announced on July 28 that it has launched XR VERSE, a new concept Metaverse learning platform that applies extended reality (XR) and various technologies it has accumulated, and has entered full-scale service.
XR VERSE, launched by the edtech company, is a platform that allows users to experience new learning connected to reality in a virtual space. It is characterized by the fact that a full 3D space is designed based on the 'FKDS' design model of 'Feeling, Understanding, Knowing, Applying, Doing, and Sharing' and enables effective learning experiences within it.
The first space opened through this launch is the Welcome Space. It is composed of three spaces, Learning Space, Gallery Space, and aims to create a space where you can stay and experience activities along with the purpose of education.
Among them, the welcome space is decorated with contents that can be adapted to and enjoyed in this space while entering the world of 'XR VERSE'. The Brand Space is a space that real companies can utilize like a promotional booth, and the main target is companies related to education in line with the role of a learning platform.
The Learning Space is an important space as XR VERSE is a learning platform, and it stands out for having the same level of educational infrastructure in the virtual world as in the real world. There are various types of classrooms, auditoriums, and banquet halls, and instructors can arrange seats and hang banners when opening a lecture. In the case of the large auditorium, up to 200 people can be connected simultaneously, making it possible to hold meetings or lectures with a large number of people.
In particular, it provides a variety of patented interactive learning activity tools to maximize learner engagement and learning.
The gallery space is a space where various artworks can be experienced in three dimensions through XR, and the exhibition provides a new appreciation experience of Van Gogh's self-portrait and impasto-themed works through 3D space and AR. In the future, we are also preparing to exhibit works by the general public.
In addition to this, there will be additional updates in the future, such as a healing space where you can practice yoga, meditation, and psychological counseling, a forest space where you can relax, stay overnight, or camp in a green forest, and an art space, a customized space where you can share your personal knowledge and experience.
XR VERSE is primarily intended for use by companies, training centers, schools, and the education industry, and can be customized to fit any size or purpose. In fact, despite its early launch, a large education company has confirmed its adoption and is currently working on customization, and a Seoul-related foundation will also use it for education for seniors.
Since it can be customized autonomously, it can also be used in various directions such as telecommuting, teleconferencing, and teleconsultation in addition to educational purposes, and the company has implemented a space so complete that it is planning to work in XR VERSE. The company explains that it is the first case in the HRD industry to apply the Metaverse space for various perspectives and purposes.
"XRVERSE, which was completed by implementing five patented technologies in about eight months of development, is a platform that creates an extended world-based learning ecosystem where you can grow and others can grow, and can help individuals and organizations achieve healthy purposes at the same time," said Byung-soo Kim, CEO of XRVERSE. "Since we dragged on/offline learning into an extended virtual space and made it more advanced once again, there will be endless uses."
